Ce petit livre est un état des lieux de certains elements de l’Église catholique, en particulier le sens du sacré, los angeles liturgie, le catéchisme, and so on. Il est d’un abord facile et sans grande prétention théologique. Ce n’est pas un traité. C’est un cri d’alarme. Il est donc lisible par n’importe quel croyant ou incroyant qui s’intéresse un peu au sujet et partage quelques-uns de mes soucis quant à l’avenir de l’Église catholique dans son pays.

Avant de l’écrire, je me suis plaint chez mon évêque, chez le nonce apostolique et j’ai même essayé d’être entendu à Rome. Quand on a prêté cognizance à mes lettres, j’ai reçu des réponses courtoises et distantes, des aveux compatissants et, rarement, de très vagues promesses. Des actes : jamais. Alors je me suis dit qu’en écrivant un livre, nos pasteurs se bougeraient peut-être un peu plus.
